Kerch. That butterfly is a Western Dappled White butterfly. Heres a link: http://www.natureportfolio.co.uk/insects/pieridae_dappledwhite.php
It's the butterfly at the top. The reference number for this butterfly on the website is: mu 1345.

Raptor.  I'm going to make a guess here - I'm wondering if this is a Merlin.  Experts, please?

Hadn't thought of that Mel!  I'll modify my description from "I'm wondering if this is a Merlin" to "This is a pigeon on steroids".  evil6

PS: I have a pic to post of an Oozlum Bird . . but can't think of an apt description.  Roll Eyes

I would like to see a picture of that Trigger before it finally goes the way of the weejy weejy bird; maybe you could just say the Oozlum has disappeared from the back gardens and the back streets and the only place they can be found is down the back passages.

Well spotted Trigger ,it does .That one is an odd one out ,there's dozens of ducks on that part of the canal but none of the others have that colouring .

Thought that this place where a branch had been cut off and the sap has it sealed looks like a face.
