I have noticed that some people when quoting other people's posts, or just part of them, are not including the detail of who posted the quote or when it was posted.  This can be somewhat frustrating when the original post appeared on a different page and you have to go searching for it.  To get the full meaning of the quote it is sometimes necessary to read the entire post to be able to put it into context with other posts.

It would therefore be helpful if the 'Reply with quote' option is used when inserting quotes into your posts.  The way to use this is to firstly click on the 'Quick Reply' link at the bottom of the page, immediately followed by clicking on the 'Reply with quote' link at the bottom of the post you wish to quote from.   If you do not wish to quote all of the post you can subsequently delete that part of the quote that is not required.    This way the details of who posted it and the date and time of posting appears above the quote which then makes it easier for others who may want to refer back to the original post.

The reply with quote button does not seem to be working, just sends me to the bottom of the page, well that's in FireFox anyway!

I have just done this in Firefox.   Did you follow my instructions to the letter?    Click on the 'Quick reply' at the bottom of the page THEN immediately click on the 'Reply with quote' at the bottom of the post that you wish to quote.   DO NOT click on the 'Reply with quote' link first!

Works for me ok but you do have to do it in the right order or else it doesnt work

I'd never tried it that way George but having just tried it, it does work - or even just a new tab, rather than a window.   It stopped working properly way back when the site went down once.
