Moving to Lowestoft « Posted: 18 January 2012 at 04:15 PM »

Hi everyone   wave

I'm hopefully just about to complete on a flat in Lowestoft (London Road South / Claremont Road area) so will be moving down with my sister later this year when the current tenants move out.

I'm really looking forward to moving to the coast and Lowestoft seems stunning - nice sandy beach, well kept garden areas and plenty of restuarants and cafes!

From reading the posts on this forum then it look like home to a friendly bunch of people too!

I may need help with recommendations for bathroom fitters and carpet layers!

Alison

Thanks everyone.

I'm moving from Stevenage in Hertfordshire, I basically lost my job just over a year ago and decided to take a year to do travelling.  Whilst doing some volunteer work in Sri Lanka I fell in love with the elephants and decided to start my own charitable, non profit elephant volunteer project.  I've been living in Sri Lanka about 7 months of the last year and have come back for Christmas.  I used to work in London but after having lived in Sri Lanka and seen how people there live I just don't think I can stand going back to the hectic London lifestyle.  So I decided to minimise my life and drop out of the rat race and move somewhere where I can have a bit more of a work life balance - more tilted towards the life part!

So once I move I'll have to find a job in the local area or travel in Norwich.  Hopefully it wont be too hard!

I'm really looking forward to my move!

Alison

Heres some information about the project I've set up.

Welcome Alison  hello, you will cetainly find the pace of life totally different to London and will be able to lead a more laid back life style.

I envy you working with elephants in Sri Lanka, I absolutely adore those animals.

I hope everything goes well for you and just ask on here if you need any information or help, its goes to know folks still want to move to the town and even better that they join Lowestoftonline  Grin

Not till later this year - the flat I'm buying is currently rented out so I have to wait till the contract is up.  I can't wait!  My sister is coming too.

Have you seen anything to buy yet?  How long have you been looking?

Hi Denise

We will organise to meet up!  I'll be in London Road South near the Claremont road junction.  I don't know the area or town too well but like what I have seen of it so far and judging by the welcome here the people are lovely too.

Hello Alison, you will love Lowestoft and Annie is right the pace of life is slow slow slow  Smiley compared to city life or large towns.
I'm hoping to be down for a week's break May/June and my dream would be to live there.
Good luck on your move and welcome from me.
