Thank-you Mel.I love that little cottage. My dad used to know the park-keeper who lived there but I never got to go inside. My cousin made me a needlepoint of the cottage a few years ago and I treasure it.Don't know why it fascinates me but my daughter feels the same way about it.Thanks again,Mel.

Meg and Mel...

'Lilliput Lane' Models have the BelleVue cottage...

They dont credit as the cottage in BelleVue...But it is definitely known that it is the one..

It's practically an exact copy...

If you Google it ...You should find it quite easily..

I've seen it a couple of times..and i am sure you can still buy it..

The story goes that the day that the photographer went to photograph the cottage for Liliput Lane ,
they discovered that there was a birthday party in action for the keepers daughter. Hence the balloons.

Funckychick...

It's at least 2 or 3 yrs ago..

I had a look but i can't find it again..

I'll keep looking...I'm probably putting in the wrong keywords on Google...

If i recall..It was nothing to do with Suffolk or Lowestoft...But it definitely was recognised as the 'BelleVue cottage'..

I can remember someone complaining about how it wasn't recognised and just given a generic name...

Loving the pictures...thank you. I went to Leiston grammar school...so a bit far to go to take a picture!  I went to the college on St Peter's Rd, but no high school in lowestoft. I did trainee teacher placement at St margaret's primary and my friends went to the denes. Is the beefeater still in business? ( a restaurant with self serve downstairs and waitresses upstairs)

Here's a pic of Yarmouth Rd/Hollingsworth Rd..

£60 and three points...and it aint even a good pic...(You would think for that price they would throw in a pine frame)

I was going to Pakefield, to see my grandkids...

Legally, If i was doing half a mile an hour less..they wouldn't have prosecuted...

It's a fair cop tho'..

Never mind...(At least i saved it for posterity...Show my grandchildren i was a 'drag racing badass' in my day)..

Lovely to see all these pics. The grammar school in Leiston is now the middle school. Then we were integrated with the high school.
Funky chick, that is quite a coincidence! I didn't go into teaching either until about 10 yrs ago when I worked in a special education reading programme.

Thanks to all the people who posted the Lowestoft pictures. They are fantastic. Bring back so many good memories. I went to the Grammar School too. It still looks the same in that photo although I know it has been added to since my time there. I went to St. Margarets Junior school too . The North Parade area was my playground when I was a kid. Loved them all, thanks again.
