Has anyone tried the 'Blackrock Grill' at 'Potters' (Hopton) « Posted: 13 January 2012 at 03:50 PM »

It seems to be getting rave reviews..

Not cheap..but not expensive for a treat...

All you can eat..(as always at Potters) and you cook your own food, at the table...on 'Hot Stones'...

I've not been to the restaurant...But i'd like to know if anyones been there..

Looks good tho'..

Any ideas/views on this place..?

Thats the trouble Paul theres too many courses I rather pay less and have less courses

the 'eat as much as you can' is a bit of a false catch I personally think because unless peple have a very greedy appiitite most people will eat an ordinary amount and probaly only a bit more than they are used to anyway

It's great. It's not like a normal restaurant, so it is a LONG meal. I like the exotic meat option - and it's stuff like antelope, zebra, wart hog and kangaroo - that kind of thing. It's actually quite fun - because they give you the black rock and you sprinkle a bit of rock salt on it to seal it, then help yourself to the stuff to cook. They do a veggie option, but cooking a few peppers and other vegetable isn't quite as good. The service people are really nice, and I find it worth the money. It's the thing to go to with a group for added fun. Not much point with just two of you.

It's a novelty really, but a nice one - and I didn't find the price off-putting.

Potters is a great place - and probably the most expensive holiday centre in the country.
