Free parking in Lowestoft
« Posted: 08 January 2012 at 10:25 AM »
With the reduced parking charges over Christmas turning Lowestoft into a thriving hub I thought it might help if a list of free parking spaces was available all year.

I think you can get a special invisible permit to park on the path and yellow lines.I notice a van has been parked on double yellows near the Bethel for a week with no ticket. It must have one of those permits.

There's another free car park on the pavement and (apparently) you can also park on the corner on the yellow lines and chevrons if at least two wheels are on the path.It must be OK as both of them have been there over a week.

I don't think the disabled or visually impaired get a good deal in this town. The cars parked on the path are a hazard along with the advertising signs and A boards and the ruddy great trailer parked on the path outside the old Bethel is right next door to dedicated blue badge holder parking spaces.
I walked up the town centre yesterday and there was still snow piled up in the middle and having to avoid that, bikes and those electric buggy contaptions it seemed to be little suprise that people go elsewhere to shop.
