I have plans to go to church and then spend New Years Day round friends. What are your plans?
Have decided outdoor Christmas lights come down tomorrow, as have a busy week ahead.

Happy new year!
Im working today until 2pm, then im going to head to Riverside Road as a very unseasonsal Hoopoe was found there (should be in Africa!) Its feeding on the ground by the old Belle coaches yard and flying upto the roofs of the old Jan Weld wood sheds. Birdwatching/sightings and occurances in the town never cease to amaze...

Some normally over shoot in May and June, mostly found along south and east coast with the odd record in autumn so its a bizarre record in december although not totally unknown for them to turn up. It was certainly a shock for the person who flushed it! He at the time was there looking for the Black throated diver thats been on Lake lothing as well as thwe Peregrine that lives on the grain silo.
