After many attempts, not to mention a few headaches, at a process called 'Layers' I have my first success. The little lad is my step grandson, Fletcher, and before anyone says it, no he wasn't trying to get away from me.

That looks excellent. I have to admit to feeling a wee bit envious; I have wanted for a long time to learn how to create images like this, but unfortunately lack the staying power to work on layers. Everytime I try I get frustrated!

It took me a long while to get stuck into layers, JollyJapes, like you I kept giving up. One of the reasons was that the tutorials that came with Paintshop Pro X4 were not easy to follow, for me anyway. I had a look on YouTube and found many videos that helped me to understand the basics and that encouraged me to keep going. I don't know what program you use but if it's the same as mine here are a few links.

If you use another program just go to YouTube and type in the details and there are loads of videos that help. As they say, a picture paints a thousand words. Just typing your details into Google brings up a great deal of sites that help. Once you have your first success it's hard to stop, give it a go.

I wrote it all down on a piece of paper, Mel. Now, where did I put the paper?
