Thanks so much for that Robbie. What a great film. I could have been at any number of the locations, and my dad worked on the broads at the time, hiring out cruisers from Newson's boatyard. It took me right back to my childhood during, what seemed like, those glorious days by the seaside.

Did Newson's own those two houseboats that used to be moored off the marshes by the old MTB's Charles? I used to have to deliver groceries to there by boat on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid.

I'm sorry Frankie, I've no idea. It's possible. I was still very young at the time, and, other than the odd visit to the boat yard in Commadore Road, I was not really aware of the business side. Interesting story about the groceries delivery.

I wouldn't have been doing it at the time the film was made as I was only born in 59. I started doing it in the late 60's I would guess. Just one of my saturday chores for my pocket money.
