my hubby been looking for work for ages now and cant get a permanant one, all tempory ranging for between 1 day and 1 month.....are there none left?
it seems to be the current state of the uk, every1 being laid off,places shutting down,companies going under!

I know of a few permanent jobs coming up in Lowestoft.

Twacy I know you moved here very recently,  did you do any  homework about the area?   In common with many other seaside towns it is what is termed as a 'deprived area' and as such will not have that much in the way of employment opportunities

i never know why they call this 'deprived' because i seen alot worse.Is your hubby prepared to do any job.I know they looking for people at cefas anymore than that i do not know

Well it is deemed a deprived area SD whether it fits that criteria for you or not

 What qualifications has your husband got Twacy and what kind of work is he looking for? It is bad everywhere in the country ( read Europe, read world)

thanks dave i will pm you bit alter with info.

yes we did do our homework befor we moved, hubby actually has a job to come to, but alas they shut down, and he hasnt found a relacement. weve lived in holiday places befor,skeggy,isle of wight, so know the score as far as work goes but even in the winter life goes on!

by trade he's a poultry farmer,used to be manager on both ducks/turkeys, hes done pig farming, hes a good welder(,up to mot standard)can turn his hand to most outdoor things, doesnt mind hard work, full clean driving licence, he hasnt any certificates, just lots of experience.

It s a shame that having a job to come to it fell through  I can see your difficulty. Has he tried the farms outside the immediate area he may need to accept travelling a bit to find something although all the farms seem to be  in trouble now too. I understand about the experience versus paperwork its a b..... because though experience may make him the better worker now a days everyone wants to see certificates and qualifications It may pay him to do some evening courses to get them whilst he is unemployed as i think a lot of courses are free. Is his CV up to date that makes a big differenceand again he can get help with that at The Crossing in the High Street if it isnt

Is the Crossing still open? I walked past 'The Junction' this afternoon by MacDonalds and that seemed to be open they maybe able to help too. Good luck Twacey.

The crossing as far as I know is open and also have one day a week in the Kirkley Centre sth Lowestoft
