Not really IT, but has anyone else out there on here got an Android phone?
do you have the same problem with on board memory? despite having a 16GB card in my HTC Desire
I can't download any apps because of lack of on board storage, it has 512MB I believe.
it's a really good little phone apart from the on board storage.

Hi there I have the HTC Desire Z which I am now liking very much (killed my old phone in the bilge of a ship)
there are a few settings to get the memory card to be used as the normal storage and I took mine into the shop for assistance even though I have the full manual downloaded.
Well us men just don't read the manuals do we! even when I did it was several reads before I knew what it was talking about.

Thanks Nikkai, I did try that at Carphone warehouse and the Orange shop in town, the response I got both times was D'oh .
three assistants said all I need do was delete my mail and texts, so no joy as I keep my mail to a bare minimum on the phone by deleting it as I read it. Maybe I need to go back and be a bit more pointy  Smiley

Not sure if this will help as mine is the desire Z

I had to go into email and set the storage devise as the external (card)
also with the Aps to have them stored to the card
and the pictures to store on the card
Also you will have to make sure that the card has been "mounted" as my one although it was 8Gb I could not find it when I first got the phone until I had a message that the card was not mounted? so I followed the prompts.

Oh the best help I got was from a nice young lady in the Vodafone shop Gt Yarmouth, (17 to 20 years old) and wizzed through the phone like Stirling Moss
she did admit to owning a HTC and enjoyed playing with my Desire Z (soon to be her next model)

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
press on the apps in the list and some of them will have a button which says "Move to SD Card". This will shift the app onto your 16Gb card and free up space on the internal memory.
Just be aware that some apps won't allow you to move them. The option to move will be greyed out for these.

Does that help?

Thanks guys, I have moved all that I can to the SD card JustStu ..
think I will phone Orange help desk or get in touch with the makers,
see what they say, there has to be a way round it, it's not much cop with so little internal space.
