Explain "solitude"? Just call the word up in any online dictionary! It will explain it better than I can.
And the person in the photo isn't me - I was too busy trying to fathom out my new camera!

Aussie, read my reply to your other request for help. The same applies but to include a picture from your computer when posting a reply you must use the 'Reply' link below the last post - which appears along the same line which shows 'Pages [1] [2] All ! Go Up' NOT the Quick Reply link at the very bottom of the page.

A brave Lowestoftian from 1 Para, a regiment close to my heart, who filled me in on some of those terrible times at war. I was gobsmacked at the turn out, never seen so many at a remembrance service, at East Point in honour of those who served and those who are serving today.

I was gobsmacked at the turnout for the Remembrance Day Service and the seafront was busy with people making their way up to the event in the beautiful sunshine.

This morning in the garden I noticed a cobweb which had thousands of tiny water droplets still clinging to it with the sun causing them to glisten. The small droplets were probably less than 1-mm in size. Here are a couple of pictures.

Blimey, I don't like the look of what is just coming around the corner. If that was in my house I would have to summon the current Mrs H to remove it and take it outside.

We had the good fortune to see Matt Baker on his rickshaw last Friday. He was riding through Puckeridge, the village next to our's, at about 11am. He already looked tired out but gave all the people a wave and a smile, I believe he raised over a million pounds after cycling from Scotland to London. He certainly deserves a big pat on the back for his efforts, if he can get off it after a week on his tricycle of course.

Saw Matt Baker on the TV last night Dave and so far he has collected one and a half million (and still counting) for his ride from Edinburgh to London...so well done to him and his back up team.

As promised photos of the fete St Catherine hats and the L'Aligot which is made with potato and Aligot cheese takes ages to make as it has to be heated very gently melting the cheese and blending in the potato .It's stirred with a wooden paddle and very often it's men who prepare a large pot takes some stirring .

if you read the recipe in the link, there's 8oz of cheeses to 1-lb of potatoes which seems a lot of cheese to that amount of potato. Could also depend on the cheese used. (If it is that).

It's what Delia Smith said it is on the link , it's one of those dishes that you need to try, to try to describe it tastes very good and is usually eaten with grilled sausage .Much better than plain mashed spud .Comes from the Massif Central area of France where the Cantal chesse is produced. It does end up very elastic as you can see from photos .

Thanks Kerch. I do like mashed potato and cheese - I had some from M&S yesterday, and I occasionally make it myself. Didn't know it was called that, though.

My mash and cheese which I love is just like mash with cheese in it that must be a very different sort of cheese to stretch that far but thanks for the info Kerch

The cantal is a hard chesse same family as cheddar and is sold as a young cheese which is mild or a slighty older cheese which is a bit stronger and as a mature cheese which I think is the best The only french cheese that 's made the same way as Cheddar.
