C Section is a major procedure women have to take things easy for 6 weeks afterwards, - natural childbirth a few days week at most most of us are on the go looking after other children 48 hours afterwards C section you cant drive walk round half dead shouldnt pick heavy things up I agree SD lots of problems later in life too.
Cant imagine what the thinking is behind it any ideas?

It wasn't very long ago that they were warning against going for the "easy option" of a C section with a view that it was not good for the child to have such an easy start in life. They cited such people as Victoria Beckham as being a bad example for taking that option as a choice as opposed to a necessity.

I really dont understand the reasoning behind this at all, it will cost more for the NHS, it does far more damage to the woman ( the reason you are only allowed 3 at most or has that changed too) and is suupposed to be worse for the baby so what is the sudden advantqges I never had a C section but I saw friends who did they looked like old women for days / weeks walking around bent and not able to do any work or even pleasure for some time I was back to normal very quickly although my first was a natural breech birth ( not allowed now, have to have a C section for it) yes it was b....... painful but hey ho you get over things very quickly and you heal and its how its meant to be not cut up into pieces

My daughter in law was adamant that she would have a C section because her mother said it would hurt if she didn't ! Then a week before the so called time for her to go in our first grandchild was born (naturally) the same thing with the second though she did say she was only having the op so they could do a tummy tuck? which was all pie in the sky, then out pops the child much to the mother in laws disgust the third child was planed to be a water birth but even that went the natural way, the mother in law planned the births so she could be there and unfortunately was not for any of them.

The current Mrs H had a C-section when we had our twins which were the second birth she had experienced. she had no choice though, I can't remember the name of the problem she had but it is associated more with multiple births where the babies waste becomes too great to be absorbed naturally, gets into the mother's blood stream and then back into the babies. I can understand why in today's "no time" society this type of birth would be attractive. The C-section can usually be planned into you diary whereas a natural birth cannot.

They think a C-section is an easy option because they are only thinking of the birth and not of the fact that their abdomen has been cut completely through. A very short-sighted view.

The mother in law (my sons) had five children normally then the last one was a C section and sterilization she put the time spent recovering because of the sterilization and not the birth. She is a total hypochondriac
