Thanks folks - have been really adventurous and found default settings - and it is set to
copy pictures to PC using Picasa (see below).  Unfortunately, it doesn't!   crybaby2
I'm suddenly going off computers!

Tomorrow is another day - I'll give it another go then.

Thanks again.

If you have updated your picasa then windows "may" have forgotten to update the internal link
Dont give up as if you do then the computer has won and WE have lost a very good poster on this site

If your Picassa setting doesn't work then try "open folder to view files using windows explorer." then you can send then anywhere

Thanks Meryl for suggestions.  Have been back to default settings, changed it to something for pics, and saved - then changed it to Picasa & saved - then rebooted.  Can’t really test it as I need to get new pics - will do that tomorrow.

Will re-read & try your second suggestion tomorrow - as I’ve got my sleepy head on now  Cheesy

PS Looked in camera manual and there is a lead to connect camera to PC to t/f pics etc - so will get on and save all this playing about!

UPDATE:

To try and alleviate my woes - I bought a rather expensive item - an "Integral USB 2.0 Single Slot SD Reader" - it cost £1.70 from play.com!  Grin

Used it today (fortunatley, I'd taken some piccies this morning!) - and it's excellent . . . and it pops them into Picasa . . . so, I'm well pleased.
