It has come up on my screen that Java Update is available - should I click on it please? Don't think I have ever seen this before.

Yes.  Java updates itself all the time, and is needed for all manner of different things - it is the backbone of computers nowadays.  Update and all 'should' be well.

i will do samething that happening to me...i got some games that not let me play says i need jave pluggin,i tried downloading but still not play game keeps saying need the pluggin
