Payment Protection Insurance Claims (PPI) « Posted: 25 October 2011 at 09:47 AM »

Has anybody got any stories to tell regarding the reclaiming of payment protection insurance (PPI). Barclays have decided to repay virtually all claims and have dropped their usually defensive stance.

Obviously nobody has got a story to tell so i'll tell you mine. I have had a Barclays Additions bank account for a few years and quite a while ago I noticed they were charging me a 13p per £100 charge per month for my overdraft facility whether I was overdrawn or not. I never sign up for payment protection insurance as it is usually a waste of time and I have no PPI's at all for that reason. I queried this initially with Barclays and got the usual defensive stuff in return. Recently though, their stance has softened and upon complaining again they sent me a form to fill in in which I sent off a few weeks ago expecting to hear nothing. They wrote to me this week to tell me that they had upheld my complaint and were paying me back all the money i had paid them plus 8% interest and as they can't pay me for 40 days they will also be adding another 8% for that too. So if anybody else is in the same boat  - fill yer boots. Grin

if you've not requested the PPI they shouldn't be taking it. You could ask them to show you where you signed up for it - I bet they haven't got a record of it.

Interesting, I have just had a form come in saying about this, I have just opened an account, have not requested any P P I,  but how would one know if they are, other than ringing and asking, and surely they could say no, as one wouldnt know anyway, seems strange to me ,  frankie says . It`s not Barclays I am with though.

Or £2,000 in proper English. If they are charging you for PPI it should show up on your bank statement Sunny.
