I want to install the latest version of a program already installed on my PC. I run a check to find anything on my system which might cause a problem. This indicates: "it is recommended to disable the driver AhnLab Network Filter Driver AMonTDLH.sys.”
Is this something that I can carry out easily - and is so, how? Or, would I be best to leave well alone - and abandon the install?

As a recommendation; my advice would be simply to ignore it! Try to install the latest version, and see what happens. You can always do a system restore if things go horribly wrong.

Thanks for that - I'll give it a go. If it does go "horribly wrong" and the computer blows up - I'll blame you!

Trigger - after all that fuss and deliberation about putting something in a box, I reckon you shouldn't try downloading anything.

The matter of seeking advice/comments on packing an item was done because I had an expensive camera to send away and had not packed such an item before. Whilst I had the basics - I merely sought the thoughts of others on here idea. And, as usually happens - good advice was offered which was of great help in packing the aforementioned item.

Re you attempting to install Kaspersky? This is a fairly common problem, as kaspersky doesn't like the .sys file. A google reveals that if it is kaspersky, it may be that this file belongs to an old security programme, and Kaspersky may delete the file itself on installation - however sometime it needs to be done manually. Usual advice would be to find the file, and rename it to something like original name.sysold - so if necessary you can put it back.

But remove McAfee first - if you're going to install a different AV program
