On a certain genealogy forum I go on, every time I type the pound symbol it appears as a question mark. A few others are having the same problem.  How can this happen?  I will test it on here - £ £ . Doesn't happen here then - how odd.

Itmay be how the forum is set up - is it a foreign site?  If American or Australian, their keyboards are set up differently and so the same ASCI code will produce a different character.  The forum admin software can actually be instructed as to what ASCI code will produce what symbol.

On my daughters computer an Acer laptop her @ is done on the 2 key

Yes FC, that is right.  It used to annoy me though 'cos my email address has the @ in it and I had a heck of a job getting used to it.
