Polysyrene "chips" for packaging
« Posted: 21 October 2011 at 11:49 AM »
Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a small bag of these? Am trying to work out how best to pack up my camera to post.
Thanks

Trigger you can buy rolls of bubble wrap in many places probably Rymans in town. That is just as good and you can wrap the camera in as much or as little as you want.

Good thinking - I have a large roll of that which I've resisted "popping"! I've been wanting to get rid of for ages!
Thanks for that.

Wondering if the post office sell them as they sell all kinds of packaging for mailing stuff.

Just 'Googled' and it says most post offices sell them.

Another tip is when you get electrical items and they have those polystyrene blocks in, they can be rubbed down to make them similar to the beans

Thanks everyone for comments - much appreciated. Had a wander downtown - with a confused look on my face - it can help sometimes! Rymans have small bags of “Poly. Chips” for £2.79 - and when I think how much of that stuff I’ve thrown away in the recent past! So, I’ll manage without. The P.O. sells boxes and the smallest one is deep enough to take the camera - well wrapped in bubble wrap! So, hopefully, I’ll send it on its way next week.
