Help - I have a frozen Google!
« Posted: 12 October 2011 at 09:49 PM »
Is anyone else having problems with opening anything in Google? It opens, but cannot access anything - cannot put in an address - nothing! It’s just locked up. Earlier this evening I had about 10 updates - including, one for IE9 (Cumulative Security Update for IE9 - 10.5MB) and my OS is Windows 7. Continued using PC for a while, then closed it down.
Returned to about half-an-hour ago and Google opened - then the little “spinning blue circle” appeared for a while, Google shut itself down for around 20 seconds, opened up again, and went through the same process around 10 times. Thought it might be doing some installation work - so later shut down and restarted. Now, when I get to the Google screen it’s locked up. Of course, the stupid Google Doodle is working merrily away! And so I definitely have a frozen Google!
Has anyone else had these updates and similar problems - or have I been ‘specially selected?
I'm posting this on my oh-so-slow (snail-paced) laptop!
Have been re-trying (very trying!) and now get a lttle panel popping up telling me that IE9 is not responding . . . I could have told them that!

Doesn't help at all!
Interestingly, after d/l the 10 updates and switched the PC off. Shortly after a new neighbour rang - could I help? His computer (running XP + IE8) is having a funny turn - when he opens Internet Explorer it's "zoomed in" at around 400% - so all he's got on screen are the two letter "O's" of google!
I've switched off the PC and when I've posted this I'll be climbing the apples and pears - and continue you reading my book - the latest about Wallace Simpson. 'night all!
Will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings forth . . . . if it's still the same, I think a System Restore will be called for!

Could he have accidentally pressed CTRL + a few times? If so CTRL - would sort it out.

Thanks for comments. The good news is - it's all up and running this morning (and so am I!).
I suspect the IE9 update was the 'problem' - had it still been giving me grief, IE would have been ditched!
