It seems as though his cronies are determined to protect him.In a proper job in the real world he'd have been slung out on his ear.
All tarred with the same brush as far as I'm cioncerned, all in it for self advancement, wouldn't give you tuppence for the lot of them.

Whats in it for them? How great their lust for power that they will do anything to hang on to it.

Nice to see Mr Draper is putting Waveney on the map once more. He has again made the pages of Private Eye.

MPs and councillors.
They all tell us they started in politics because they believed they could make a difference.Within days of starting they all have their noses in the trough, and they stay there untill election time comes round again. The only difference they worry about is the amount of money they have.

To be fair to Mr Draper, he is in a difficult situation. As the council is in a 50/50 balance, if he was to resign then the Labour  group could force a re-election of council seats. This would then put a Labour member as Chair. So even if the people of Worlingham were to re-elect a Conservative person to WDC, the council would remain Labour controlled. He can either hold on to his seat, or hand it on a plate to labour. Not a choice I would like to make.

Personally I would expect morals, ethics ad integrity to be more important than political power

"To be fair to Mr Draper"
He's not fit to hold any sort of office and should be kicked out.If his cronies suffer as a result it serves them right for not acting sooner and for protecting him.
