I've had the free version of AVG security on my computer for some while and have had no problems that I can recall. I upgraded to 2012 yesterday and I'm running a full scan as I type. It went up to 86% in about ten minutes and I thought it would be finished in no time, however, an hour later and it's just moved to 87%. As long as it finds no problems I might let it have a teabreak soon.

I like to do the 'Whole computer scan' funkychick to be on the safe side. It's been sitting on 95% for some time now, I'll have to get the whip out.

After joking about the time it took AVG 2012 to do a full scan yesterday I have to report it lasted for three hours. I've only used 50GB of the hard disc and not added anything new between this scan and the 2011 version's scan which took about 80 minutes. Has anyone else had the same problem?

This info is not of any use / help to you - but yesterday I did a full scan (Kaspersky) of my PC - and that took 2 hours - which is what I would expect. I also did a scan (AVG 2012) of the “important parts” of the laptop and that took just under 15 minutes
