Thanks for all the welcomes  Cheesy

Life on the other side is not that bad ,
specialy today we had a lot of sun.

I love my own country , but if I get the chance I go to visit England,
When I was 2 years old my dad took me to England
and than  almost every year I visited England.

I never been in Lowestoft  Roll Eyes the nearest Holiday I had was Gr Yarmouth.
I must have some pictures of that holiday,
I will look for those photos and post them on this forum.
It must been in  the early eighties .... We came to england with the Norfolk-Line
I think it was Gorleston.

My dad always visited England every year, and I went along with him.
( even now i have my holidays in England with my own family )
It was always a great time to be in England  Cheesy
(( and it still is  !! ))

Glad you still come to England.  You'll have to give Lowestoft a try.
I see you said you are in South Netherlands.  Are you anywhere near Breda?  I used to visit a large company there back in the 1980's.

Cheesy Thanks again for the welcomes .

@Summer : My Parents had also a vacation at Corton on a holiday park,
but that was many years ago...  it was for my birth  Grin
It must be in 1965 or something.
I got a few pictures of it , I'll will show you,
I do not know the name of that holiday park,
I only know it was in Corton.
Mabey someone else know???

The lady on the last picture made some funny clothes for my sisters,
I think they could win a prize with it,
I do not know if she is from Lowestoft also....

It looks as though your sisters had entered a 'Fancy Dress Competition' Veltmeijer, one dressed as Little Red Riding Hood (fairytale character) and Little Bo Peep (nursery rhyme character).

Hello from me Corine.
My wife and I have just come back (24th) from a very nice trip (9 days) to your country to visit some family members. My wife's brother (a Lowestoft lad) lives in Amsterdam with his wife (Edinburgh born!!). They have lived there for nearly 40 years. They have two sons who were born there. All the family are bilingual. My brother-in-law worked for KLM at Schipol, he is now retired, his wife worked for a Dutch Government department and has just recently retired.  Our visit on this occassion only took in the north of the country - as well as getting around Amsterdam we also visited Rotterdam, Den Helder and the island of Texel. My wife and I also had friends who lived further south in Geldrop (near Eindhoven) who we visited on several occasions - sadly they are now both deceased. Their daughter and her family lived next door to us in Lowestoft and my wife and I struck up a friendship with the old couple when they visited their daughter. We had two nice holidays with them in Scotland and Wales. Their son-in-law worked for Shell when they had a base in Lowestoft.

Cheesy Thank You again  Cheesy

@Mel: she was very creative, she made it from paper,
we call it here " roodkapje"  ((Little Red Riding Hood )) and " herderinnetje"
( thats in english shepherdess I think )

@Jamesw82 : I even though that the holiday Park no longer existed
it's been a long time ago , Fortunately, there are some pictures of it,
so it is not all gone forever (  permanently )  Wink

I hope Robbie2010,  you had a good trip,
the weather wasn't so bad I think , well not here in the South,
on Texel it is more windy I guest ,
I never been there , I have to do that sometime  Wink

A'dam is a very nice city , I go their few times a year for shopping ,
just for one day, by train , thats the easiest way to get in the city.
I think the tram is very dangerous at the shoppingstreet
, you should always pay attention to it , You can not have enough eyes  Wink

I hope this is "good english"  it is difficult to think dutch and write it in English...
I have to write a lot on this Forum, coz that's a good exercise for me... Grin
