Openreach announces latest fibre locations
« Posted: 13 September 2011 at 08:08 PM »
Openreach today [13/09] revealed a further 114 exchanges where it will make fibre-based infrastructure available so that communications providers can deliver super-fast broadband.
The exchanges serve more than one million homes and businesses and are the latest to be added to Openreach’s deployment plan. The latest upgrades are due to be completed by Autumn 2012 and Openreach will reveal further locations over the coming months.
This phase is the latest chapter in BT’s long-term programme to make super-fast broadband available to two-thirds of UK homes and businesses by the end of 2015. The company has pledged to spend £2.5 billion on this programme, subject to there being an acceptable environment for investment.
Unlike other companies, BT will offer access to service providers on an open, wholesale and equivalent basis thereby supporting a competitive market.

I think that your ISP advertised your download speed as
UP TO
8Mbs or 20Mbs (which is what my ISP offers), they do not state that that is the speed you will get.
