"How not to transport a fridge"
« Posted: 27 August 2011 at 05:40 AM »
"This man really should have paid for home delivery. The barmy driver in Richmond, Canada strapped an enormous full-sized refrigerator into the trunk of his dinky Honda Accord and tried to drive home.
Barely a third of the fridge was actually in the car, the rest was secured (we use the phrase loosely) by ropes attached to the seat belts. Thankfully a concerned member of the public tipped off the cops, who quickly swooped to reprimand the driver.
An officer for the Richmond police told The Vancouver Sun: "While there may be some humour in this situation, we need to take note of the fact that someone could have been seriously injured if this vehicle became mobile in the state it was. We'd like to encourage people to please take the time to properly transport items."
After speaking to police, the man unloaded the refrigerator and arranged alternative transportation."

It reminds me of that classic video clip shown on some of the Police TV Programmes and shows a moped rider transporting a long plank of wood balanced across the back of his machine.
