If you go to page 901 on the Programme Guide on your Humax - that gives details which starts: “You need a Broadband connection - either Ethernet cable or Homeplug adaptors”  You can find a bit more info on that site.

I bought the Homeplug adapters (which cost around £40).  There are two of the devices - one plugged near to your router - and connected with an ethernet cablem and the other near your TV.  An Ethernet cable goes from that one into your TV.  I got these as I wanted to watch iPlayer plus other sites.  But you need to make sure that your TV is able to receive the Broadband signals.

Here's a link to the product I bought http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-pl-85pe-mk2.htm.  You need two of these plugs.

Hope that makes a bit of sense - I'm not very good at explaining technical thingies!  Grin

Someone may be able to explain it better!!

Meryl, I have just done it successfully - it was on 'to do' list thought I'd do it now then let you know.

You need to connect the Freesat box upt o the internet, which normally means connecting a cable from your internet router to the back of the Freesat box.  After this, you need to go into the Menu settings, and choose Network.  Make sure this option is 'not' set to manual.  After this, retune your box using the Freesat Retune option.  This will then 'find' the iPlayer and ITV Player channels.

In order to play either of these you need to go to the Guide, and select On Demand.  This will display the two on demand players.

Trigger , is it possible to play the i.player through the ordinary freeview or does it have to be the Foxsat.

Meryl, this link will give you the answers you need, as it all depends on how you watch Freeview, what type of Freeview box you actually have.

Like minds etc, I've just been looking at that!  I'm a bit disappointed to find that if you have FreeviewHD+ you can watch Youtube clips, but FreesatHD+ can only have the BBC and ITV players, not Youtube.  I'm hoping this is something that will be worked on soon, as I already enjoy watching iPlayer on the TV and think Youtube would be good too.

Depending what outputs are on the laptop it should be possible to connect it to the TV with the appropriate leads.   My laptop for instance has an HDMI output so I can connect it through the HDMI input on the TV with a normal HDMI to HDMI cable.  Otherwise a cable that coverts the laptop's output  to possibly a SCART input to the TV would be suitable.   It may also be necessary to switch the laptop's video output from the laptop's screen to an external screen (in this case the TV).  This will normally be a keypad function which should be given in the laptop's manual.

I expect this may all sound confusing and it can be.  In fact I also have to change my digital sound output to send the sound through the HDMI cable to the TV rather than to the laptop's built-in speakers.

Best of luck.
