Happiness « Posted: 18 August 2011 at 11:50 AM »

Yesterday someone I knew was "bored" and sorry for themselves. This made me think about what makes us Happy. Not just the material things, but everyday pleasures which money won't buy.
I love the sound of a baby laughing it always makes me laugh or smile. The sound and sight of a morris 1000 car is distinctive and seems to make all around smile.I realised the list is large and if I can give any advice to someone feeling bored and fed up, its think of things like that, and of do some jobs that need to be done
What do others think.?

I'm thinking hard about a Morry 1000 but the kids are still quarrelling and stopping me from working. I suspect I will be much happier when school starts again!

Yes I think others will agree there, even people without the little darlings,as they are effected in the shops. We all have to remember we were young once and probably like that or dare we say worse!!!Think as well of bubble cars.

I miss Lowestoft!

Re: Happiness « Reply #3 Posted: 18 August 2011 at 01:01 PM »

I was also bored yesterday AM so I went to visit a friend and that made me happy!  Since being diagnosed I have definitely found out who are my real friends, and was a little suprised by who has stood by me and who has dropped off the radar.
My grandson's smile makes me happy and so does a hug from my daughter, a sloppy kiss from the dog, hearing that my bloodwork has come back with good numbers, settling onto the porch swing with a good book and a cuppa, a phone call or msg from my brothers......so many things bring me happiness!

Its great to hear all the simple things which make us happy, and how different they are.My relative likes nothing better than getting all messed up doing engines and things like that, that would be my worse nightmare.

For me, whenever I see a dog out being walked, it makes me smile.  Dogs give you unconditional love, and don't cheat on you or break your heart!  Also, like most people, having friends and family around makes me happy.  Personally I think having money complicates matters, and can make you unhappy.  Doesn't stop me wanting some though!

I can't explain really, it's the same as laying in bed on a Sunday morning and hearing someone mowing their lawn does the same  Smiley

I would regard, judging by the photo, that NJ could well be one of those 'lady birds' I enjoy looking at!!!!!!!!   Nice looking lass!

Another thing ( apart from my whisky) that makes me happy though, is to see the smiles on my grandchildren's faces when they run towards me after we haven't seen each other for a few days and saying 'hello Grandad' then give me a big hug.  All five of them do that.  Priceless!.

Happiness is knowing that when I look in a mirror I see ME
result I'm alive which not only makes me happy but also my wife, daughter, son and grand children.

anything else is a bonus
