She was sued for 500 million i think for presumable plagerising many of the scenes from a book called Willy the wizard by a bloke called Adrian Jacobs I think it is. She won her case
I ve never read Willie the Wizard or HP but having spoken to a teacher who had, he said chunks of it were rehashed by JK

One of my sons informs me that his wife is related to JKR on the Hunter side as is one of my wife's cousins. I found the connection between my daughter-in-law and my wife's cousin quite some time ago whilst researching my wife's family tree. Jokingly I have told my daughter-in-law to name the next grandson Harry with the middle name of Potter!!! As Scorpio says - 'if you go back far enough everbody is related to everbody'. In the course of researching my own Scottish roots I found 3 instances where my mother and father's sides of the family were related through marriages before they ever met!!
