728 you have to look a bit further than yourself, what about the very elderly living alone relying on stair lifts? and like my dad very little sight even in day light pretty scary to spend an unknown quantity of time in the dark, people on their own, small kids etc. Of course not a major event but could be an uncomfortable or dangerous time for some

Well you cannot fight against acts of god, so you have to do it the old fashioned way and wait. I am sure thats the case bt i cannot do anything, all my neighbors are ok. So community spirit should take over.

So, what were you doing when the lights went out? (Providing it's something you can tell us!) Me - I'd just put my fingers in my right eye to remove my contact lens! Fortunately, I hadn't removed the lens - they're difficult enough to see in the daylight!

Me, i swear and curse because the T.V went off, get a battery light that i got from a cheap shop (never thought it would last), and read my book that i put down a year a go.

I was chatting away on facebook then the computer went dead! Had to send them a text to explain what happened as they werent in Lowestoft.

Fortunately, I had a pack of candles (five, if must know!) in't cupboard under stairs - so I was alright. Or so I thought . . . of course to use them you need matches - or similar!

I was a bit headless trying to find a torch I ve got two grkids staying over tonight and they are both scared of the dark thankfully they were asleep I rang dad to see if he was ok then waited patiently
