Web feeds « Posted: 30 July 2011 at 01:35 PM »

Opened my emails today (Windows Live Messenger) and I noticed, listed towards the top of left-hand side under”Quick Views” - the third item is ‘Unread Feeds’ and there’s almost 2.5k of the things!  I haven’t noticed them before (I know I’m not very observant!) - and am wondering if they became activated when I “signed in” for the first time to Live Mail about a few days ago.

So - my “Help!” questions are - (1) is there a quick way to delete them all in one fell swoop - as I don’t relish the thought of deleting them individually, (2) how do I stop them “popping in” in the future.  I have signed out of Live Mail.

Usually to delete a bunch of things you click your curser in the middle of them and then press control and A together this should highlight all so that you can delete with one click

I think that if you right click where it says unread feeds you will see remove from list. They are usually NHS research topics, can be interesting.

I was hoping there might be an easier way - as this "bunch" comprises nigh on 2,500!

The way Meryl described is the simplest way, Just highlight on item in the list of 2500 and press CTRL A  which highlights them all then right click on any one of them and click delete.   It may take a little while for the process to complete.   You then need to go to the Feeds item at the very bottom of the left panel and click on that.  In the top of that panel that appears above is an item 'Deleted Items' you need to click on that and then click on the 'X'  that appears alongside.  It's like moving emails to the deleted folder and then emptying that.

To remove feeds completely, right click on the heading 'Your feeds' then click on 'Manage Feeds'  This opens a window with all the groups you are subscribed to.  Highlight the ones you don't want and click on the delete button at the top.

Hopefully that should solve the problem.

Just click you curser somewhere in the list of feeds then press control and A together all will be highlighted then one click on delete will clear them in one go.
