DOes anyone have one of these boxes? Recently I have noticed a problem which is , if it is switched off but is recording a programme and then I switch it on it will show all the signs of coming on but there is no picture. I have no option but to switch off and wait until the recording is finished. Has anyone else experienced this or do I need to call in the engineer?

I have the same, and have experienced recently a growing number of issues. The main one one that when recording, it would/could not pick up BBC HD, came up as no signal found. Even a switch off and on again did no good with this. In the end, last week I resetted back to factory settings, and it seemed to do the trick. Had the box for about 3 years, so I guess old age?!

When you went back to factory settings , did you lose all the recordings etc.?

I can confirm that you dont lose the recordings - and it comes up with a box telling you of this. However you lose all other settings such as series link etc. I've had to set all recordings up again from scratch - which is a good thing, a bit like tidying up!

“Series Links” happens when you use the programme guide - and you want to record a particular programme. If it’s a series - a box will appear asking if you want to record just the one programme or the whole series.

Thanks John. The box is insured until the end of the year so I might call them in.

Yes mine had a 2year guarantee plus I have insured it for a further year. This problem has only been recent.
