No new signings or transfer rumors??

Just saw this on the LTFC website - by Steven End the clubs press officer.

LINK

News on the Trawlerboys

* Christy Finch has gone on loan to Gorleston for 3 months, and has also signed a 1-year extension to his LTFC contract. Christy spent a large part of last season on loan at Needham Market.

* Speaking with Club Chaiman Gary Keyzor on Tuesday, (5th July), he said that due to the high material costs there would be no westside terracing.

* The early rounds of this season's F.A. Cup are drawn on Friday, (8th July), and the much awaited Ryman Premier League fixtures are coming out in the middle of next week.

* The AGM is on the 20th July, with a 7.30pm start: everyone is welcome to attend.

* Curtis Haynes-Brown is having a 2-week trial with Crewe Alexandra. He would be a big player to lose, but I'm sure the management team wouldn't stand in his way of getting a full -time professional contract, and maybe one day playing in the Championship or Premiership. Speaking with Ady Gallagher on Wednesday, (July 6th), he stated, "Lowestoft players are going to get looked at and get spotted if the team are playing well, but we wish Curtis all the best in his trial." Crewe certainly have a good boss in Dario Gradi, and he wants to take a close look at Curtis, in either a friendly at Congleton and Rhyl in the next few days. He is in his second spell at the club with nearly 30 years in total. The Crewe forum is already hoping Curtis signs so that the club shop can make extra shirt revenue having Haynes-Brown on the back of shirts. Dario has given the likes of David Platt, Rob Jones, Geoff Thomas, Danny Murphy, Dean Ashton and Neil Lennon all a chance at lower league, and look what great careers they all had!

* Ady also mentioned that the squad has come back really sharp, they have had 4 sessions and training is going well, with less than a week to go until the first game against Great Yarmouth next Wednesday.

* Michael Frew is a couple of weeks away from running, and Matt Nolan has undergone minor surgery, but should be training fully again in a couple of weeks.

* I also asked Ady about possible signings. He said "We are always on the lookout for new players if the right ones come along, and they would fit in and help strengthen the squad. And like any club at this time of the season, we have a couple of irons in the fire and just have to wait and see what develops."

* I also attended a training session for the newly re-formed Lowestoft Ladies on Tuesday night at the Denes High School, (7-9pm). The first session saw 18 girls turn up and on Tuesday around 14 attended again. The manager will be David Eastwood, who is a very experienced coach and has had a lot of success managing girls and ladies sides locally. The Ladies have a friendly against Woodbridge Town on the 24th July at Crown Meadow, with a 12 o'clock kick-off. The side will be entered in the Suffolk Women's League and League Cup, and also the Suffolk County Cup.

If you would like to train with the team with a view to joining, please come up and give it a go, maybe in a few years we can win the Ladies F.A. Cup like we did in 1982, and also got to the final in 1979, losing to Southampton.

Lowestoft Town played Gt Yarmouth last night at the Wellesley Road ground, Yarmouth were 1-0 winners in a typical friendly game which saw a lot of changes and a few trialists at Lowestoft being given a run-out.

Chemsford City visit the Meadow today for Lowies 2nd pre-season.

Looks as if it could be a wet one, so don't forget your brollies!

Remember the After Match party in the clubhouse kicking off around 6pm so dont all rush home after the game.

Im quite sure it is, the pitch shouldn't get waterlogged at this time of the year, one would hope.
