Changing my mobile. « Posted: 02 July 2011 at 10:10 AM »

I have a PAYG  mobile and want to change it to a different one.  I’m with Orange, and am about £6 in credit.  My question is - can I swap that Sim card to another mobile (Orange friendly!) - as I don’t wish to lose the credit that I have.

If you are only wanting to put it is a different phone but still use the same network (Orange), providing the phone will accept Orange sim cards and is not 'locked' to another network such as O2 or Vodafone then the answer is yes.

Thank you for the response - at least when I go to the shop I'll have a bit of background info.

The cheapest and most basic!  I've had my current one for around 15 months which came with £10 credit and, when I last looked - it still had £7 credit!   evil6

If you use it so infrequently and only want a basic model why change it from what is probably a basic model?

well what with social media and twitter feeds oh and the functionality of being able to read and send emails on the move i do need to way up the pro's and cons, the only thing that puts me off a smart phone is being able to keep my work life and home life seperate or do I multi-task between the two, obviously this does have its benefits as I like to socialise with my customer base so that im not just seen as a salesman..

That's not what your OP implied.  My parents used to tell me to look after my 'toys'  laugh

I think if you're only paying £5 or £6 a month you're not going to get any sort of decent smartphone for free, and certainly not an iPhone.
