Car Insurance « Posted: 27 June 2011 at 04:40 PM »

It’s almost time to renew my car insurance again (another outgoing!).  I received a quote from the AA (was with them a few years ago and they quote each year - unsuccessfully!), which was roughly £75 more than I paid last year - so ignored it.  My bank (The Phone Bank) sent me some blurb that I could get car insurance from them - and they would take £40 off the price when I paid.  I got a quote - £100 more than last year’s cost - so they obviously add the £40 on in the first place!

Today I received the renewal notice from my current insurers - and its cheaper than last year - by £2.26!   Grin

Amazing, are insurance companies finally waking up and rewarding customer loyalty?

I always complain to my current insurer when they hike my renewal charge, then I refuse their cheaper deal, which they usually offer. I make it clear that I'm taking my business elsewhere because they tried to trick me into renewing at an inflated price. Reward customer loyalty and I'll stay, I tell them.
