Mobility Scooter capital of East Anglia?
« Posted: 06 June 2011 at 09:48 AM »
Hi All
Just a few lines to let you know that I am still around. I am very busy with my sick wife all of the time, however we did manage a few days last week in Lowiestoft. This was for my mothers 97 birthday, which she spent in Lowestoft hospital recovering from a broken hip.
What caught my attention most was the proliferation of mobilty scooters up and down London Road. I was sat having coffee outside Hills bakery and in the space of an hour I counted a total of 30 scooters going past. All shapes all sizes all seeming to come from East coast mobility. One or two others of some very exotic styles obviously private.
Then to cap it all at the hospital there is a space to park miobility scooters.
Now being a mobility scooter owner my self I am used to seeing maybe 2 or 3 others in and around my town, but Lowestoft really does seem to be the Mobility Scooter capital of East Anglia, wish I had brought mine with me instead of my walker!!
All joking aside I had a great couple of days there, though my one big disappointment was my fish & chips from Hollingsworth Road where in the past I have had a good expeerience , this time very poor quality.
Regards

Yes Snowdrop
I do agree. A lot of supposed mobility users are very rude and arrogant on scooters. I have a two speed one and am taxed and insured for road use also have had a test to see if I am a capable driver.
See me on mine on Veterans day last year

Hi Funkychick
Yes she is alright but not as well as she could be. She had a fall in Barwood ward on Saturday night and broke her femur again. another trip to JP a phone call to me at 03:45 to tell me. JP surgeons have decided that no intervention will be done and she is back in Barwood ward on 6 weeks in bed. She will hate that. She is always trying to get out and home. By the way do you know her
Do you mean one of these. They are available in Benidorm for 3000 euro's. That is £2678 at todays rate.I would love one. But it would be long drive home
