Have any of you eaten at The Jolly Sailors since it changed hands?  If so, what was the meal like?

Oh that's good Funkychick, we like going there because we don't need to drive - can walk it, so can have a few drinks too.  Thanks.

Hi On Friday evening we had a meal at The Harvester or Brewsters as it used to be near Tesco s.It was really good .The place was really busy so thats a good sign and it is advisable to book as we did because we have not been able to get a table on the last two Fridays. We had two courses with steak  as our main unlimited salad and free refills of soft drinks. With a couple of extras added to our main course it  cost just under £30 for the two of us.We will definately be returning.

The last time we were in Lowestoft some friends took us there and the food was "nothing to write home about"!!Quite small portions and quite high prices!!

I'm inclined to agree with you Meg.

The Harvester did little to impress me.

The only time I went there, I was most disappointed.
We had a gristly piece of steak (very small) and the chips were so cold we had to send them back to get some hotter ones.

Meg, I feel the prices to eat out in the UK are crazy high, and you often don't get free refills on drinks which we are used to here.
Although Freelance had an issue with cold chips (yuck!) I do find that the food in England is usually served hotter than here though. I remember one Christmas party for our English ladies club in Alabama resulted in everyone sending their plate back to be reheated!!!
