Although I rarely ever do, they recommend you use the battery periodically and let it run down until it switches itself off then fully recharge the battery with the laptop switched off (i.e untill the charging light goes out) before turning it on again.   Best time is  to run it down before you go to bed and let it charge up overnight.

 Just discovered battery on mine funky, it has always said 100% fully charged, it now says 98% available(plugged in, charging) does this help you?

Sunny, when a laptop has been switched off and unplugged from the mains for several hours the battery will have discharged slightly and so when plugged in and switched on again the battery will recharge those couple of percent and state that accordingly until it's fully charged and then usually say 'fully charged (100%)'  or something similar.

Thanks B B you are right it is now saying fully charged, what puzzles me is where one takes the battery out, I am feeling a bit foolish now  Grin but am puzzled though.

You usually have to click two little catches then slide the battery out its a flat rectangular thing about 6 ins long x 2 inches wide ( there should be arrows to show you the way to slide it)

on tv in last 24hrs it was on the news  google had done something extra,i can not remember what it was called ,google something..i googled it but nothing came up.anybody know what it is, similar to fb but more to it and it not called google extra.it in beta format and apparently up and running
