This row of flag Iris look lovely and should stay that way, there's no way that "joe public "can get to them to pick them .I've seen people with armfulls of them but once picked they die quickly as do alot of wildflowers .

Totally agree Kerch - unfortunately, wild flowers are up against some members of the public who, sadly, don't understand that wild flowers look their best - in the wild. Just because they're growing in the wild doesn't mean they are there for "the taking" and, as you say, they die quickly when taken out of their correct habitat.

Thank-you Mel,the best thing about that walk was seeing the lacewing it's a type that you won't see in England (Libelloides coccajus) No one knew what it was .The guide was an expert on wild flowers he thought it was a type of butterfly . The walk was to see wild Peonies but due to the mild weather they were finished except a small clump up a very steep bank which I could n't climb .

I have to make do with google or my Collins Complete British Wildlife to identify the majority of plants I photograph Kerch although I do believe they sometimes have guided tours on Carlton Marshes, when there are experts on hand to help ID plants etc.
My wife and 'Collins' have told me that this is Red Clover
