I spent the Easter weekend decluttering so I intend to enjoy the wedding watching the bits that I want to watch. That's surely not asking too much.

I'll probably just be dipping in and out of the coverage as i maybe pottering about doing other things, the telly will be on. Since i was born in 1982 it will be my first true royal wedding state occasion i'll witness so im quite curious.

I notice others on different site and in the media bleating and moaning about it all as if it doesn't bother them well thats their choice and no one is forcing them to watch it but i wonder if those same people, their lives revolve around programmes like X factor, Britain's got Talent and Biog Brother, the sort of programmes i hate but have to put up with all the trailers, newspaper stories when they're on?! Its all swings and roundabouts.

We are having a "back garden party" but there is a list of street parties here.

I think the Boulevarde in Oulton Broad is also holding some sort of party. There was a notice just inside Everitts Park but I didnt pay a great deal of attention. We might pop up there if the weather is nice - cant beat a bit of community spirit even if I am totally fed up with hearing about the wedding!

Jamesw82, it's the same over here.  There are some wondering why Americans are interested at all, but they probably wouldn't dream of missing the shows they like, similar to the ones you mentioned.  Hey, to each his/her own!  If you don't like it, don't watch!  LOL, now it's my turn to watch something I am interested in.  I feel when there are sports events on (Superbowl, NCAA Basketball for example) it's rammed down our throats and the few shows I like are taken off the air in favor of those things.

We seemed to have two topics about the Royal Wedding - one in The lounge and one in Debate Lowestoft Issues.   I have now merged them into one topic in The lounge.
