Knight & Falconer family in Lowestoft « Posted: 27 April 2011 at 06:46 PM »

Hello everyone, I am  trying to trace any family I may still have in the area.  My grandfather Frederick William Knight (1897) was born in Alma Road Lowestoft.  His father was Charles Owen Knight born in Bermondsey, London - his  mother Margaret Falconer was from Mussleburgh in Scotland.  I see from Google maps that Alma Road still exists and I am hoping to visit this summer to do some research, and have a holiday.  Bye for now :-)

Have a look at this, there is a plan of Lowestoft cemetery to help you locate the burial plot.

Re: Knight & Falconer family in Lowestoft « Reply #6 Posted: 27 April 2011 at 10:34 PM »

That's my family all right!

Frederick William Knight was my Uncle Fred Knight. My Mother Margaret Knight was his sister.

My mother and My dad Harry Blowers lived dead opposite Grandma Knight (always called just Ma), at 31 Alma Road. All seven of us were born there.

I suggest you identify yourself to me here by PM. Then maybe we can exchange emails?

Hi Ken, I think we must be cousins then!  Wow, I just can't believe the response I have had from this site and all within 24 hours.  I have been working on my family tree on and off for last couple of years and now I suddenly feel I'm really making progress.  Thanks - I will email you Ken.  :-)

Thank you,  A.Knight. Nice to meet you.

I have to go to the Royal Brisbane Hospital to see my specialist this morning, but I will email you later in the day - with some family pictures!

Meanwhile, you can enjoy yourself, getting to know me and my family by reading all the topics (including my short stories) in KEN'S CORNER.

If I have to admit it, so am I.   I wouldn't mind betting that a lot more blokes than will admit it are as well.
