I'm testing it too!
I'm having to think this one through as I'm trying to do it as per your instructions! And lunch is almost ready - so will codgitate a bit longer!
My update: If I remember correctly, the “Preview” facility (which I used regularly) ceased functioning some time ago when the system “fell over” - and it wasn’t possible to restore that facility. I rarely used the “Quick Reply” - preferring to use the full “Reply” facility - ponderous, that’s me!
My process for posting a reply is to use “Reply” - type out my message - give it a quick once-over, and post it. When that appears - if I spot any errors, I then click on “Modify Message” - sort out the corrections - and “Post”. I never use the “Preview” button as that doesn’t work - just giving the “Fetching Preview” message.

James: Did you do your message - and click on "Preview", alter it, and click on "Preview" again? The reason for asking is because I've just tried it as Dave said - and it just stays on "fetching preview".

Thats how i just did it, i wrote testing twice, clicked on preview wrote tesing a thrid time, clicked on preview and it worked ok

Well - all I can say is - I'm thoroughly confuseddotcom  The "preview" facility hasn't worked properly, for me, since this site last "fell over" (I love that phrase!). So can only deduce that it works for some - and not for others!
As I mentioned - I don't use the Preview button - I just post and then do any necessary corrections via the "modify message" facility.

If, after entering your text in the 'Quick Reply' box at the foot of the page you click on the 'Preview' Button you are then taken to the same page you would get if you clicked on the 'Reply' link at the foot of the postings and the text you entered in the 'Quick Reply' box shows on that page as the 'preview' above the icons and smilies area, as well as in the main box where you can amend your posting. However, if you click on 'Preview' again on that page the area at the top under the words 'Preview post' in the blue bar changes to 'Fetching preview...' and then does nothing else. You can continue to amend your posting in the main box and add photos if you so wish, but the only button which then has any effect is the 'Post' button which then uploads your post.
