For some time now I've had a problem with previewing any new messages I post. If I write something in the 'Quick Reply' box and click 'Preview' it goes to the main posting page where the preview appears as it should do. If I then spot an error in the preview and correct it, then click preview again, it just comes up with 'Fetching Preview' and stays that way until I give up on it. If I skip the 'Quick Reply' box and go straight to the main page, as I'm doing now, the same problem occurs.  Any answers please?

I'm testing it too!

I'm having to think this one through as I'm trying to do it as per your instructions!  And lunch is almost ready - so will codgitate a bit longer!

My update: If I remember correctly, the “Preview” facility (which I used regularly) ceased functioning some time ago when the system “fell over” - and it wasn’t possible to restore that facility.  I rarely used the “Quick Reply” - preferring to use the full “Reply” facility - ponderous, that’s me!

My process for posting a reply is to use “Reply” - type out my message - give it a quick once-over, and post it.  When that appears - if I spot any errors, I then click on “Modify Message” - sort out the corrections - and “Post”.  I never use the “Preview” button as that doesn’t work - just giving the “Fetching Preview” message.

James: Did you do your message - and click on "Preview", alter it, and click on "Preview" again?  The reason for asking is because I've just tried it as Dave said - and it just stays on "fetching preview".

Thats how i just did it, i wrote testing twice, clicked on preview wrote tesing a thrid time, clicked on preview and it worked ok

Thanks for all your replies, I did mention the problem some time ago I seem to remember, so it has been going on for a time. I'll use your method Trigger, post it and then edit it if I see any errors. Trouble is, I make a lot of them lately.  crybaby2

I wrote "testing" in quick reply then clicked preview it was there Ok so I clicked post .
The thing that went wrong when the system collapsed was that I can only use "reply with quote" if I click on quick reply then on "reply with quote" on the desired message and it will work. Never had any probs with using Preview.

Well - all I can say is - I'm thoroughly confuseddotcom  Grin  The "preview" facility hasn't worked properly, for me, since this site last "fell over" (I love that phrase!).  So can only deduce that it works for some - and not for others! 

As I mentioned - I don't use the Preview button - I just post and then do any necessary corrections via the "modify message" facility.
