Sadly. the railway lines don't go to all the places we want to anymore, thanks to Dr. Beeching.

Easy, re-place the railways that Dr Beeching took away. This is being done in some parts of the country already, particularly where towns have got queues of thro traffic..

I think that's unlikely in the forseeable future, especially with country's current financial situation.

True, it is unlikely to happen straightaway, more of a gradual thing into the future plans.. trams and light railways are becoming very popular in many UK towns with more in the pipeline...
( the ones in the pipeline are called 'tubes' maybe? ) Smiley
