I recon that all the energetic equipment in gymnasiums  ought to have charging generator fitted and as you cycle or row you could charging up the lighting of the building you were in.
At least if you were not getting fit you would be doing something useful.

The people using all that equipment should be obliged to put that energy they expend to good use instead of wasting it!
