Earth Hour
« Posted: 26 March 2011 at 08:15 PM »
Earth Hour starts at 8:30 this evening.
People, organisations and governments around the world are turning their lights off at 8:30 tonight for 1 hour to enhance awareness of energy use and climate change.
Is anyone joinig in?

I had a candlelit dinner for two. That finished at about 8-30pm. Will that do?

Close to impossible. I am finding it surprising how little I know my own house and I have only lived here 25 years.

Its fun though , -when my little daughter was working in Africa everything finished as the light went down but she said they had so much fun talking, telling stories and singing

Ive got a wind up (well thinking about it it's actually a pump action one) much easier than using batteries which dont last five minutes You only do about 3/4 pumps and it lasts for ages well impressed

I recon that all the energetic equipment in gymnasiums ought to have charging generator fitted and as you cycle or row you could charging up the lighting of the building you were in.
At least if you were not getting fit you would be doing something useful.

The people using all that equipment should be obliged to put that energy they expend to good use instead of wasting it!
