me too 728, I have to smile at their recent loses and the fact that they are having to close the home furnishing outlets. I recently discovered that 'ONE STOP' is owned by Tesco, so I boycott them now aswell

I would never go in a Tesco store and refuse to eat their ''branded'' stuff.
so if you invite me for a cuppa and a cream cake, make sure it's not Tesco grub
I'd rather spend a bit extra at my local corner stores.

One Stop was owned by a company based in the Midlands called T&S Stores, they bought out the convenience store chain I worked for in Blackburn and were then promptly taken over by Tesco. Most of our stores became Tesco Expresses and with all their superior knowledge Tesco managed to decimate the takings in most of them by turning them into ready-meal heaven. The stores that weren't good enough for Tesco Express became (or remained) under the One-Stop facia.

I share both your views on Tesco and the other three chains but shouldn't really as Tesco have spent 10's of millions with the company I work for now over the last few years.

Frankie, what is the one on Oulton Road? is that Tesco owned? I believe it is, I was there a few weeks ago, when staff at the checkout were moaning about Tesco barcodes on some stuff.
who do you work for now? if you don't mind me asking

I'm not sure which shop that is as I've been living away for 18 years now but if it is a One Stop it is owned ultimately by Tesco even if they are not in charge of the day to day running of it. I'm out of the retail business now (was in IT) and work for a warehouse automation company called Dematic where I try to sell voice-directed order picking to the supply chain business.
