Just made two dozen little mince pies to take to the meeting of the British ladies tonight. We all take something to snack on and divide up the leftovers to take home.

My daughter met a British couple from Cambridge at the Post Office where she works. She introduced us to them at her 50th birthday party.Today they invited us to lunch. What a wonderful meal we had.First a lovely salad, then roast beef, yorkshires, roast and mashed potatoes, broccoli, peas, carrots, corn and gravy. The a delicious apple & rhubarb crumble with Bird's custard.I took them a basket of British goodies-tea,biscuits,jam & tinned cream, also some Tim Tams .We spent a few hours enjoying each others company then we left as my daughter and son-in-law had invites to a Super Bowl party. Was a very pleasant lunch and visit.

Ultimate in junk food: Pop-up pizza you put in the toaster
There was a time when stuffing cheese and meat into a toaster would have earned you – at best – a distinctly quizzical look. That time is gone.
Marks & Spencer is launching the high street’s first pop-up pizza – a time-saving snack which is ready in just four minutes. The £2 pizzas, which have a pre-baked base, come in a special non-stick ‘pocket’ designed to prevent a melted mess when they are slotted into a standard toaster.

You know that you can buy toaster bags. Just make a sandwich of whatever you like[ ie. beans] put the sandwich into the bag then the bag into thetoaster and hey presto!
