Do you have a name for that in-land waterway dredger Kerch? Many years ago I was on the team which designed, developed and built that type. the first ones were all named after water birds Kingfisher, Heron etc

Dredger and the barge tug.The angle of the second photo is a bit off there was a half naked, hairy man showing off his shadow boxing skills by the edge of the lock ,it looked horrible .So he got "chopped"

The first ones we built were named with bird names that would be associated with water and the very first was a wading bird (I think) Heron this was because the ling neck and spindly legs the legs reminded us of the two long square poles at the rear of the dredger known as 'spud legs' they have a walking action to assist the movement of the dredger, then the excavation arm reminded us of the neck and beak of the bird being able to reach down in the depth and bring up a larger object than it's beak. The first were powered by Volvo Penta and Dowty drive units, but now I can get boring

I have just looked back through my last posts and now I get the impression I am bored with images of dredgers ! It is the opposite in real life Seeing the inland waterway dredger brought back so many fond memories of a time when life was fast and fun filled. not that it is not fun filled now but just a little lot slower . Please continue posting and I apologize if my post gave the wrong impression to anyone. PS: I am only human after all said and done so prone to making a 42 carat plonker out of himself.

The dredger scooped an unusual.......... load bombs left over from the last war ,there were Germans stationed in the village and the buildings on the right of the photo were used to store bomb etc and when they left they threw the remainding stores in the canal.Did n't see any come up while I stood there ,very cold this morning so did n't hang about long.

Thanks, Sunny. It was cold that day at the end of January, and she didn't have her gloves on, either. She really enjoys the beach because she lives in east Lancashire some 40-50 miles away from the nearest beach and doesn't get to them too often.

Mel, if you think that is laid back, you should see the cyclist I sometime pass on the Wroxham/Norwich road. He is almost laying horizontal on the bike and his feet on the pedals are almost level with his head. I do wonder how safe he really is.

Maybe you can give me the right shade of the colour nikkai B R G ? you have a good quota of intelligence nikkai so no probs there. I have had two quotes of the colour from friends, one said a dark green, the other said a light green, so that left me confused.

From Wikipedia
British racing green or BRG, a colour similar to Brunswick green, hunter green, forest green or moss green (RAL 6005), takes its name from the green international motor racing colour of Great Britain. Although there is still some debate as to an exact hue for BRG, currently the term is used to denote a spectrum of deep, rich greens. 'British racing green' in motorsport terms meant only the colour green in general - its application to a specific range of shades has developed outside the sport.

Thanks morty, I guess it will be around a dark green as you said , and also in the statement, it says a deep rich green, so I think that solves it for me thanks, and if you think about it it would look classier than a bright green wouldnt it.

The figures in white are the dance group I dance with and they were doing a special dance called the buffetier .But I 'm banned from doing that dance because the bellows they are carrying are filled with flour and they worry that the flour will bring on an asthma attack , so I take photo's instead . They are the all members of the age d'or club.
