When I was a little girl................
« Posted: 18 January 2011 at 03:26 PM »
Hi
This is my first posting so if I get it wrong please bare with me!!
Lowestoft has always had a special place in my heart. i spent my childhood holidays, all of them, in Yeovil Rd with my Grandmother. I can still walk around Lowestoft with my eyes closed, even though it has changed so much. My Great Grandfather, Arthur James Swan lost his life on the 'Forget-me-not' on 17th July 1895. My Grandmother's name was Annie Constance Howard nee Swan and her husband was Arthur. My mother was Kathleen Mary Day nee Howard. All are interred at Kirkley Cemetary. If anyone knows anything regarding this side of my family, I would love to hear from you. I am not tracing my family tree, mainly because I do not have the time. However, any information, memories etc would be lovely to know.

Thank you for getting in touch and thank you for the warning! Say hi to my mum for me next time you are in Kirkley. Unfortunately, I live in Kent now so hardly ever get to Lowestoft.

Hi Lizzie I have had a look at the Kirkley Cemetary website for you I cant find Arthur James at all but Annie Constance died in Lowestoft hopital age 92 and Kathleen Mary died age 64 they were according to this both interred on the same day 27 March 1987 Kathleen address was given as Tuscan St, Greenwich London SE10

..........Kathleen Mary was my mother and Annie Constance was her mother. My mum died first and then my grandmother 6 weeks later. My mother was cremated and my grandmother buried, hence the same date as we placed them together with my Grandfather......if that makes sense!!

Hi Lindsey
Long time no see - do you remember when we used to go on the beach together during the holidays in Lowestoft?
My Mum and I used to come round for you at Yeovil Road there is a photo of us together on the beach somewhere think my Mum has it.
Sorry to hear your Mum and Grandmother have passed away.
I have loads on the Howard family if you are interested.
Linda
