Hi, I`m Rembrandt. I`m totally new to this game so don`t expect masses of entries. There will, of course, be subjects coming up which demand a response and you`ll get it. So many things need talking about, and occasionally I aim to introduce a subject or two for you to respond to. Meanwhile, I shall peruse all posts and maybe a reply will be forthcoming.

Thanks for the welcome folks and to Funkychick, I must say that THE NIGHTWATCH took me some time. However, I did love Whistlers Mother. She was a cracker. Rembrandt

I need to change this pic.

Doesn't matter. Rembrandt (the Dutch guy) didn't paint Whistler's Mother, either.

I have a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius in my attic....
Trouble is Stradivarius could not paint and Rembrandt made rubbish violins

I do actually have a violin - not a 'Strad' - in my loft, from many years ago when I used to play. Must retrieve it and have a play (or should I say 'try' and have a play).............sometime!

Or if you don't play it you could build a small boat out of it.

That would be waste of a good musical instrument. However, I do have a small fibre-glass boat hull about the length of the violin in my garage which I made about 10-years ago and which I may find time to elaborate on and sail after I retire.

Yes it would. OK, how about when you retire you could make a violin? Would you be interested in that sort of hobby when you stop building boats?
Also do you know Les, the double bass player. I believe he builds boats too, I know he was involved in restoring the decking of the Lydia Eva. He plays bass in the band Son of Cash.
What sort of stuff did you used to play? I'm interested because I also play violin.

Don't think I would want to make violins Joe.
Sorry I don't know Les, either.
I played the violin in a youth orchestra in Liverpool in the early 1960's, so naturally it was classical.
What do/did you play?
